Residential Services
Where Comfort Meets Care
Our Residential Services team offer light supports to residents of Heron House, a beautiful 140-year old heritage home in Victoria. Situated on Government Street, it’s a hub for exploring the city. Heron House is more than a place to live, it’s a space created for comfort and joy.
Community Garden
Garden to Table
Residents are invited to participate in cultivating our community garden, planting herbs, vegetables, and fruits that are later enjoyed in shared meals and seasonal workshops. From learning about gardening techniques to savoring dishes made with ingredients you’ve helped grow, this program connects neighbors, promotes wellness, and celebrates the joy of homegrown food.
In-house Creativity
Arts Room
The arts room provides a creative space where residents can explore self-expression through art. Brightly lit and well equipped, the room serves as both a studio and a community hub. Every two weeks, artists from the Artworks program come to host sessions that introduce new techniques and projects.
Life at Heron House
Our team, including Residential Support Workers and staff from Learning and Employment programs, assists residents in developing independent living, life, and employment skills. Determining Fit
Each individual’s journey at Garth Homer begins with a conversation around what it is that they would like their life to look like. This conversation is how we determine which program is the right fit for each person.
Our programs bring together peers with shared interests and needs, fostering real connection and belonging. Every plan is personalized, flexible, and built around the individual, ensuring each person is never just placed into a preset program, they help create it.
Programs don’t define people, people define the programs.
