Celebrating Meghan’s Two-Year Anniversary at Malahat Skywalk

Two images side by side, the first of Megan sitting on a wooden swinging bench with a Malahat Skywalk sign and a view of the water an mountains behind her. The second is her leaning against a fence, with the Skywalk and a side by side behind her.

Marking two years at Malahat Skywalk, Meghan has grown from a new employee into a trusted member of the janitorial team—her commitment and attention to detail evident in every shift. Balancing her role at Skywalk with a second job as a dishwasher, Meghan’s time management and organizational skills have flourished, earning positive feedback and, more importantly, personal pride.

“I like to keep the site clean for the customers,” Meghan shares. “I get positive comments, and it makes me feel happy!” Over time, she’s gained speed and confidence on the job: “I was slower when I started, but now I’m faster and more confident.”

Meghan highlights the workplace support she receives, noting that help is always “just a walkie talkie call away.” She’s proud of her independence, the opportunity to earn her own income and encourages others looking for work: “Take a chance and have some confidence in yourself.”

With steady support from Garth Homer Society’s Employment Services, Meghan continues to thrive at Skywalk. “They’re there anytime I need support in employment,” she adds, embracing new opportunities and looking ahead to what comes next. Her journey reflects the value of perseverance, teamwork, and supportive employers in building a meaningful career. Congratulations, Meghan—here’s to many more new beginnings!
